The world of product development at S-GARD Part 3

Now we would like to take you on the next stage of our development journey: certification! After our prototypes have undergone extensive fittings, wear tests and practical tests, it’s time to take the final step. This means that we hand over our final product and all technical documentation to an external, accredited institute. This is where a thorough testing process begins, in which every component of the product is put through its paces. Our aim is to ensure that we fulfil all standards to guarantee the highest quality and safety.

It is particularly challenging when several standards have to be met, such as for outerwear. We are talking about standards such as EN 13688, EN 469 and EN 1149-5 Anti-Static, which can lead to hundreds of tests. The final certificate report, which lists the test success of all components, is often a lengthy document of more than 40 pages. Once this step is completed, we receive the „EU Type Examination Certificate“, which gives us official authorisation to produce and sell our product.

But our responsibility does not end there: every subsequent change or adaptation must be reported to the institute and undergo the same testing process. Certification is a decisive step on our development journey and emphasises our commitment to quality and safety. We look forward to inspiring you with our certified product soon!
