SKYGARD and SKYLITE: DEVELOPED FOR RESCUES AT HEIGHT
To ensure you are always at your most efficient during deployments, we developed rescue clothing specifically for the demands of rescues at height.
Regardless of whether you are travelling in a rescue helicopter, abseiling from a cliff face, or working in rope rescue unit or an offshore installation, your work clothing needs to be light and fit well and protect you from wind and rain as well as from injury. And it needs to be extremely durable.
For both S-GARD height rescue series we use special materials such as the hard-wearing fabric in the SKYLITE height rescue overall. The advantage: It dries quickly and is windproof but your sweat escapes quickly to the outside. The weatherproof S-GARD SKYGARD series features a GORE® membrane to afford additional protection from rain and snow.
“We make use of preformed sleeves and legs, stretch zones, gusset inserts in the pants and a special sleeve cut in the SKYGARD and SKYLITE series to ensure you have adequate room to maneuver and feel comfortable in your clothing. It is also used in outdoor sports and mountaineering,” explains Markus Schmid. Additional benefits: “The turnout gear is loose enough to wear functional clothing underneath the jacket and pants, yet also tight enough to not be a hindrance to climbers,” says the head of development at S-GARD.
All pockets are easily accessible when you are wearing a safety belt – even with gloves. “That is ensured by large zips, one-hand drawcords and tabs,” elaborates Schmid. These zippers allow you to open the vents underneath the arms and on the thighs. “A helmet-compatible, adjustable hood that guarantees you a clear view is all the more important in stormy conditions,” as the S-GARD expert knows. Reflective striping for better visibility round off the features of the SKYGARD and SKYLITE height rescue series.
