WILDLAND: The new challenge with the S-GARD RANGER

WILDLAND: The new challenge with the S-GARD RANGER
Forest fires are a regular occurrence in countries with hot and dry climates. But wildland operations are also becoming increasingly common in our latitudes. This is because forests and other natural areas have changed significantly as a result of human influence and climate change. With an increase in dry periods, forest and wildland fires will also increase. This new challenge presents many fire brigades with extraordinary difficulties.
Specialised expertise is required in order to be able to respond better in such extreme situations in the future. In addition, the technology used must be able to cope with the difficult conditions. This applies to water supply and tools – but also to protective equipment. The requirements for wildland protective clothing differ considerably from those for indoor firefighting. When you go out to fight forest fires, you are exposed to very high temperatures for several hours. However, the risk of coming into direct contact with flames is lower. It is much more the flying embers that you need to protect yourself from.
Highly functional
With the RANGER series, we have developed highly functional, reliable protective clothing that fulfils the special requirements of forest and wildland firefighting. The protective suits are lightweight, extremely breathable and offer plenty of freedom of movement. This allows perspiration and body heat to escape more quickly. A special coating ensures very high abrasion resistance and eliminates the need for material padding in the stress zones. This makes the clothing lighter and more comfortable – so you are fully efficient and optimally protected against overheating during outdoor firefighting.
